Less than one mile from the Northeast gate entrance to Yellowstone National Park, nestled between the park's Lamar Valley, Montana's Beartooth Mountains, and Wyoming's Sunlight Basin, you will find a charming little outpost town called Silver Gate. Away from the park’s crowds and a million miles from the everyday bustle of life at home, Silver Gate Lodging offers visitors a chance to experience Yellowstone a little differently.

Enter Lamar Valley from the Northeast side of the park through Silver Gate. The famous valley is close enough to our lodges where you can easily do day trips into the park for optimal animal viewing opportunities.

Minutes from your lodging in Silver Gate is Lamar Valley, known fondly to many as “America’s Serengeti” for its large and easy-to-see populations of large animals. Use one of our spotting scopes to safely view or even take photos of the roaming packs of wolves, grizzlies, bison, osprey... wildlife like you’ve never seen before.

Live Simply. Simply Live.

Our motto “Live Simply, Simply Live.” says it all when visitors ask about what to expect from their stay in Silver Gate. Fancy we are not, but all of our rustic log cabins are cozy, clean, and appointed with everything you need for your stay. We stay ‘almost’ off the grid with intention - we want our guests to unplug from the business of everyday life and plug into nature’s majesty at their doorstep.

The town of Silver Gate was founded in 1932 by John L. Taylor and J. J. White to serve the people visiting Yellowstone National Park. The original construction covenants for the town required log and rustic architecture only, which gives Silver Gate its very unique character that people find so charming!

Silver Gate Lodging owns over 11 separate properties in Silver Gate, from individual log cabins to unique historic lodging. The size of your party will determine which property will be right for you!

Our accommodations are cozy, rustic, but very clean. Expect to find nature staring you in the face instead of your phone screen! We are happy to be ‘mostly’ off the grid - our accommodations do not have TVs or internet, although you can connect at our general store.

Our cabins come with towels, linens, and most have a small kitchenette with the necessities including a refrigerator, stove, sink, coffee pot, and toaster. Each has a stand-up shower in the bathroom, Every cabin has its own fire-pit and charcoal grill.

Guests are often found gathered in front of our general store, next to the big stone fireplace. Someone might pull out a guitar, a harmonica, or a flute and before you know it a little music jam is happening.

Some say we might have a thing for goats! Well, that might be an understatement. We definitely have a 'thing' for goats. Come by the store and see for yourself. #sexygoatlife
